Two weeks since my last entry. Things are moving along. Nicely.

I finished Adrian Mole. What a blast! Loved it. Laughs. Cheer. Fiction of course. But. I see parallels with this. A sense of secrecy. Shared. Between me and the pages I write in.

I find myself wondering where the bastard is. Where he has gone. What he has done. He’s disappeared. And I can’t work out why. Is he dead? Did the burden of what he did weigh on him until he ended it all? I hope so.

Spoke to the detective. Nice bloke. Police get a bad name. But. He’s all right. Said he’s done all the checks. Confident the bastard isn’t in jail or anything. Fills me with dread. He’s still out there. But. It seems the trail has gone cold.

Spoke to him about the man who got arrested. Couldn’t tell me his name. But. I could hear scorn in his voice when he spoke to me. The girlfriend was meek and mild apparently. She alibied him. Said they’d been together. Detective didn’t believe her tho. He thinks it’s him. I know it. Just feels like pissing in the wind. So the saying goes. If it’s him, go get him. Catch him. Lock him up. Throw away the key.

And if not. Let me channel my inner Marianne Bachmeier. Please.

I’m rambling. I know it. But. That’s what a diary is for I guess. To write what I want. What I feel. To get it all down. To recover.

Mick’s back on nights. I’m alone. Well I’m not, am I. Because I’ve got Peanut for company. That’s what I’m calling him or her for now. Peanut growing inside me. Spud growing in Margie. Seeds sprouting into something special.

And good news. Great news. Mick got a new job! General practice. Starts in a couple of months apparently. No more nights. No more shifts. No more jet lag. We get our evenings together again.

A good start to the year.
